CA confirms ad interim appointments of 6 generals, 10 officials

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Appointments on Wednesday (CA) confirmed the ad interim appointments of six generals and 10 other officials of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

In a hearing before the CA’s plenary session, Cavite Rep. Luis Ferrer, chairman of the CA’s Committee on National Defense, recommended the confirmation of the  following:

• Augustine Malinit to the rank of major general

• Warlito Chee Jr. to the rank of Colonel, Dental Service (Reserve)

• Michelle Ibuna to the rank of Colonel, Nurse Corps (Reserve)

• Julio Cimatu to the rank of Colonel, Dental Service (Reserve)

• Adan Rose to the rank of Colonel, Chaplain Service (Reserve)

• Rex Armena to the rank of Colonel, Chaplain Service (Reserve)

• Dina Begornia to the rank of Colonel, Nurse Corps (Reserve)

• Jonathan Rico to the rank of Colonel, Medical Corps (Reserve)

• Marcel Figuracion to the rank of Colonel, Philippine Army

• Ferrer’s motion was unanimously approved by the Commission.

CA members Senators Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, and Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. also expressed their support for the confirmation of the officials.
