‘Deranged’ man runs amok in Tarlac City; beheads villager

TARLAC CITY — An apparently deranged man, who ran amok in this city around noontime on Tuesday (Feb. 1), beheaded another villager, police said.

The suspect, who was identified as Rommel Apolinario, 42, used a bolo to decapitate victim Vivencio Colipano, 45.

Investigators said Colipano was just passing by the suspect’s house on board a tricycle when the latter suddenly attacked him.

Apolinario then carried the victim’s head some 100 meters away from the body and left it in the middle of the road, police said.

A responding policeman shot the suspect in the leg when the latter also tried to attack him.

The suspect was taken to Tarlac Provincial Hospital, police said. INQ
