LUCENA CITY — A motorcyclist died, and two others were injured in separate road accidents Tuesday in Batangas City and San Jose town in Batangas province.
The Batangas police reported that Aldrin Jasper Necesito, 43, lost control of his motorcycle at 2:20 a.m. while negotiating a curved section of the diversion road in Barangay Balagtas in Batangas City.
The wayward motorcycle hit a concrete electric post, throwing the rider off the vehicle and landing on the pavement.
Necesito was taken to the Batangas Medical Center, but he died on the way.
In San Jose town, a report said a motorcycle driven by a 16-year-old boy with rider Trisha Mae Garcia, 18, collided head-on around 3 a.m. with a Mitsubishi FB L300 van driven by Christopher Elviña, 49, in a highway intersection in Barangay Taysan.
The minor driver suffered a severe head injury and was critical at the Metro San Jose Medical Center.
Garcia, who suffered bruises in different parts of her body, was confined in the same hospital.
The van driver remained under police custody while authorities were conducting further investigation.
