Dead Man In Medellin
A dead man was found under  a 20-foot coconut tree in barangay Lamintac Sur, Medellin, northern Cebu on Wednesday.
He may have fallen off accidentally, said police. Residents in the area can’t identify him.
His feet were clean and  he was holding a palm branch. Police said he wore  a dark blue sweatshirt and white corduroy short pants.
The Medellin municipal health officer said the man died from the impact of the fall.  The body was brought to the Tinggoy Funeral Homes in Bogo City./ CORRESPONDENT RHEA RUTH V. ROSELL

Body In A Sack
The  body of an unidentified  man was found hogtied with nylon rope inside a sack in Tabunok, Talisay City,  yesterday.  Witnesses said a motorcycle rider dropped off the sack and sped off.
The victim was 20 to 22  years old with medium build. He had body bruises and head wounds.
Police said the body will be subjected to autopsy. /CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL BONJOC

Boy Mauled For ’theft’
A 16-year-old boy was mauled  by bystanders after  he was caught on suspicion of stealing  a  grinder from  a barangay captain’s house in Poblacion, Talisay City, yesterday morning.
Rodrigo Pansoy, a resident,  said he was passing by the the house of captain Teodoro Belleza when he heard somebody shouting “thief.”
He saw the boy  running  with  companions and brining a sack. Inside was a  grinder.
Pansoy collared the boy and then bystanders took turns beating up  the minor. Tanods brought the boy to the Talisay police station. Belleza said he would file a charge of theft against the boy to teach him a lesson.  /CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL BONJOC

Human Bones?
Residents of barangay Manipis, Talisay City, turned over to their barangay captain what they believe were human skeletal remains last Tuesday afternoon.
The bones were found  inside  a sack along with a shirt.
SPO1 Mikie Espina of the Talisay City police said the bones will be submitted for laboratory for examination.
A few months ago, residents also found a human skull near the area.
They suspect this belonged to the person whose bones were found in the sack. /CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL BONJOC
