ANGELES CITY––One of the 33 villages in this city is now COVID-19-free, data from the city government showed on Sunday, Jan. 30.
Sto. Rosario village had 19 active cases as of Jan. 28, but they all recovered from the viral disease the next day.
As of Sunday, Salapungan village had the most active COVID-19 cases at 60, followed by Cutcut at 44, and Sto. Domingo at 40.
Those with the least number of active cases were Agapito Del Rosario village (1), Virgen Delos Remedios (2), and Sta. Trinidad (4).
The city on Sunday recorded 28 new cases, 69 recoveries, and zero deaths.
Since the pandemic started in 2020, it has recorded 14,229 COVID-19 cases, of which 13,113 have recovered, while 527 had died.
The city government continues to vaccinate residents against COVID-19 through its “Ronda Bakuna” mobile bus clinics and its regular vaccination site at the City College of Angeles.
As of Jan. 29, it fully inoculated 316,974 residents or 68.5 percent of its 462,928 population, based on the 2020 census.
Some 14,742 residents have been given their initial dose of the vaccines and are still waiting for their second dose.
The city government said at least 27,187 residents had received their booster shots.
