THE SAN MIGUEL Beermen pulled out a tough 81-77 overtime win over the hard-fighting Indonesia Warriors in the 3rd AirAsia Asean Basketball League late Wednesday evening at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The Beermen once again leaned on the prolific scoring of import Darlon Johnson, who picked up the slack of fellow import Jarrid Famous. Famous appeared sluggish and could not get his game going.
Johnson scored 27 points and had 16 rebounds and had the game’s key play as he tipped in a basket with less than five seconds left in regulation to send the match to overtime.
Famous, a former import of the Meralco Bolts in the PBA, failed to score a single point and made matters worse by having three turnovers. The win improved the Beermen’s record to 6-3 (win-loss).
