ML Nat’l Darts Open adds 2 more categories

ORGANIZERS of the fourth edition of the Cebu City Mayor’s Cup-M. Lhuillier National Darts Open raised the pot money at stake to P300,000.

The annual tournament, which draws the country’s best darters, also added a new category.

During yesterday’s official launching at the Yayoy’s Grill and Restobar, which will also serve as the tournament’s venue, Cebu City Hall Employee Darts Association (Cheda) president Bert Colong Jr. said they came up with the idea to add two more categories to draw more participants and widen their promotion of the sport.

The tournament, sanctioned by the National Darts Federation of the Philippines, will now have eight categories. These are the classified doubles, youth singles, councilor’s fixed four-man team, classified three man team, fixed doubles, open senior singles, national open singles for men and women.

The country’s no. 1 darter in the women’s division Arnie Ticman is expected to compete in the tournament along with other seeded female darters.

Other rated players expected to play are Ian Perez of Koronadal City, Lourence Ilagan, Jojo Barellano, Boy Gionson and Dodong Nollora.The national open single men’s division champion will bag P25,000.
