MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) recorded 218 new COVID-19 cases within its ranks on Thursday, pushing the active case count to 2,043.

According to information shared by PNP’s Public Information Office (PNP-PIO), 498 new recoveries were also added to its recovery count of 45,613. 

Overall, the PNP has logged 47,782 confirmed COVID-19 cases since the pandemic broke out in 2020.

The death toll stands at 126.
