MANILA, Philippines — Senator Manny Pacquiao will kick off his presidential campaign in his hometown General Santos City, where he will also formally introduce his senatorial candidates.

If it would be allowed, Pacquiao said his campaign kick-off would be face-to-face but he would also utilize online campaigning.

“Baka maging face-to-face ‘yan kung papayagan tayo. Dito sa GenSan ang umpisa,” he said in a media interview.

(It is where I started dreaming of rescuing my family from a life of poverty, helping my relatives, and reaching my goals. Here is where I want to start my journey toward an orderly and prosperous government.)

The 2022 campaign period will officially start on Feb. 8.
