Active COVID-19 cases among Central Luzon cops drop

OLONGAPO CITY––After reaching close to 500 COVID-19 infections last week, the number of active cases logged Wednesday by Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) dropped to 171.

The health service of PRO3 said at least 71 more virus-infected police personnel in Central Luzon have recovered from the viral disease.

The recoveries raised the number of police in the region who had healed since the pandemic struck in 2020 to 3,404.

Data also showed that only four new COVID-19 cases were recorded among the PRO3 personnel on the same day, bringing to 3,583 its total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases.

The regional police office recorded no new deaths related to COVID-19, and its death toll stood at eight.
