MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Appointments (CA) on Wednesday confirmed the ad interim appointments of Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief of staff Gen. Andres Centino and 16 other senior officers.

In a hearing before the CA’s plenary session, its Committee on National Defense deliberated on and recommended the approval of the AFP officers’ ad interim appointments.

Aside from Centino, the ad interim appointment of Lt. Gen. Ernesto Torres Jr., who was recently appointed as the new chief of the military’s Northern Luzon Command (Nolcom), was also confirmed.
