P150-M fake antigen test kits, medicines seized from Chinese national

MANILA, Philippines — Thousands of COVID-19 rapid antigen test kits, medicines and face masks were among some P150 million worth of imported counterfeit goods seized from a warehouse owned by a Chinese national in Quiapo, Manila, on Friday.

The Bureau of Customs on Sunday said the arrested Chinese national, whom it did not identify, would be charged with unlawful importation and violation of Food and Drug Administration regulations.

Agents found thousands of counterfeit Clungene COVID-19 antigen test kits, Lianhua Chinese herbal medicines, and 3M N95 face masks and other fake goods estimated to be worth P150 million at a warehouse on 555 Carlos Palanca St. in San Miguel, Manila, on Friday.

In Digos City, the Philippine National Police on Saturday arrested two layout artists allegedly selling fake vaccination cards and other bogus documents.

On Saturday, the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Davao region field office nabbed suspects Mickent Queen Cuizon, 22; and Danica Razon, 22, in a buy-bust operation involving fake vaccination cards at Barangay Zone 2 in Digos City. INQ
