Jessica Soho biased? No, she’s just doing her job, says Lacson

MANILA, Philippines — Presidential aspirant Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson on Saturday disputed accusations that Jessica Soho is “biased,” saying it is her job to ask tough questions.

Lacson’s remarks were in response to the camp of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. who claimed that the veteran television host is “biased” against him, which is why he refused to participate in the GMA Network interview for presidential aspirants.

“Jessica Soho, biased?… I don’t think so. Like any journalist, trabaho niya yun (That’s her job),” he said in a Twitter post.

Lacson said he himself was asked tough questions.

“I was asked very hostile questions like my role during martial law, why I evaded arrest in 2010, my co-authorhip and sponsorship of the Anti-Terror Law, human rights issues and other hard questions,” he pointed out.

However, he stressed that the questions are not just about intrigues.

“Questions on platforms and programs of government dominated the hour-long interview. Personal issues were just a sidelight,” Lacson said in response to a Twitter user who said that the interview is only done to shed light on intrigues.

Aside from Lacson, Vice President Leni Robredo, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso and Sen. Manny Pacquiao agreed to participate.

The Jessica Soho presidential interviews will be aired on Saturday night.
