LEGAZPI CITY — A member of the Concepcion Crime Group (CCG) was killed in a clash with police operatives on Friday (Jan. 21) morning at a village in Libon town, Albay province, authorities said.

The fatality was identified as Rolly Saysay, who was also a relative of CCG leader Gilbert Concepcion, said Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson.

Policemen were on a combat operation at around 4 a.m. in Barangay Tambo of the said town when they chanced upon the members of the crime group, which led to a running gun battle where Saysay was left behind and later died during the encounter.

Earlier on Tuesday, another member of the CCG identified only as “Leo” voluntarily surrendered to the police.
