2 drug suspects fall in Quezon buy-bust

Police arrested three persons here on Wednesday night (Aug. 11) for possession of a gun and several sachets of crystal meth or shabu, but only after a chase in the sea.LUCENA CITY––Two alleged notorious drug pushers were arrested Friday, Jan. 21, in this city and Candelaria town in Quezon province, police said.

Lt. Col. Reynaldo Reyes, Lucena police chief, said in a report that anti-narcotics agents nabbed Jaymar Pastorfide, 36, after selling a pack of “shabu” (crystal meth) at 6: 55 a.m. to an undercover agent acting as a drug user in Barangay Ibabang Dupay.

Authorities seized four sachets of shabu worth about P15,708 from the suspect.

Pastorfide, tagged as a shabu supplier to users in the village and nearby areas, is on the police list of drug pushers in this city.

The suspect is under police custody and will face a formal complaint of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Col. Joel Villanueva, Quezon police chief, also reported the arrest of another notorious drug pusher identified as Roldan Castillo, 39, in a buy-bust operation around 3 a.m. at Barangay Mangilag Sur in Candelaria.

Castillo yielded three sachets of shabu with a street value of P30,600.

The police also found the suspect carrying a Super Cal. 38 1911 pistol with defaced serial number and loaded with five bullets.

The suspect was detained and faces formal complaints of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, illegal possession of a firearm, and election gun ban. INQ
