‘Odette’ damage reaches P33B

Over a month after Typhoon “Odette” (international name: Rai) battered the country, the cost of damage to infrastructure and agriculture surpassed P33 billion.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said the estimated damage to agriculture from Odette is at P15.988 billion in the Western Visayas, Mimaropa, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), the Bicol region, Central Visayas, Easten Visayas, Davao Region and Soccsksargen.
The NDRRMC pegged at P17.2 billion the cost of damage to infrastructure caused by Odette in Caraga, the Central Visayas, Mimaropa, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Soccsksargen and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. —JEANNETTE I. ANDRADE
