OLONGAPO CITY — At least 14 members of the City’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) have contracted COVID-19, local officials said Thursday (Jan. 20).
In an advisory, the Olongapo City Information Center said several other CDRRMO personnel had also been isolated and subjected to swab tests due to their exposure to their virus-infected colleagues.
Despite this, the city’s 911 Command Center will remain operational to receive emergency calls in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection, the local police, barangay rescue teams and other rescue groups.
As of Wednesday, the city’s active COVID-19 cases stood at 588, with the addition of 30 infections. Among the new cases is a 1-year-old baby girl from Barangay Gordon Heights.
At least 46 patients were also cleared of the viral disease on the same day. The city’s death toll remained at 320, with no new fatalities in the last two days.
