LUCENA CITY–An alleged rapist tagged as the most wanted person in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) was arrested Wednesday in Rosario town in Batangas province.
Brig. Gen. Eliseo Cruz, Calabarzon police director, said in a report Thursday that police arrested around 9 a.m. Christian Jon Paul Tayhopon, 30, in Barangay Namuco.
Tayhopon faces five counts of rape and acts of lasciviousness charges at the Regional Trial Court in Pasig City.
The report said Tayhopon raped a 12-year-old girl in January 2019.
The arrest was made based on two warrants issued last month.
Tayhopon was jailed at the local police station.
