MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) will soon distribute home care kits for “vulnerable” families and individuals with mild COVID-19 and are undergoing isolation in their homes.
According to Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, the production of “Kalinga Kits” was made possible through the partnership of the DOH with P&G, Unilab, and the World Health Organization.
The kit contains one mat each of paracetamol, Vitamin C, and Carbocisteine; 20 pieces of face masks; two bars of soap; one alcogel; one disinfectant spray; and a tips sheet.
Vergeire said the DOH will upgrade the care kits as it collaborates with the private sector to source more materials.
“Itong DOH Kalinga Kits, currently we are just drafting the advisory and guidelines for the implementing units kung paano natin ipinapatupad, but definitely as soon as possible magdidistribute na po tayo,” she said in a press briefing.

“Ang criteria sa ating pagbibigay, ibibigay sa vulnerable population na nag-iisolate at quarantine. Tayo ay continuously i-a-upgrade natin ang kalinga kits na ‘yan as more of our donors and private sector partners will come in and collaborate with us,” she added.

The DOH said partnerships with the private sector have helped the government save on costs for the home care kits.
