MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday said the poll body will proceed with the printing of ballots on January 20, its spokesperson James Jimenez said.

Jimenez said that the ballot printing may begin after the virtual walkthrough to inspect the ballot printers at the National Printing Office on Tuesday morning.

“We are scheduled today to have a virtual walkthrough, and ballot printing will begin a day or two after that. So perhaps, maybe the 20th,” Jimenez said over CNN Philippines.

The Comelec was supposed to begin the printing of ballots on Monday, but they did not proceed, according to Jimenez.

The poll body, however, released the final ballot face of the national candidates on Monday.

Jimenez said the ballots are back-to-back and its length could range from 24 to 29 inches.

One side of the ballot will have the names of the 10 candidates for president, nine candidates for vice president and 64 candidates for senator; the other side will have the names of the 177 party list groups.
