LUCENA CITY – A young girl died after she was hit by a sport utility vehicle in Calauag town in Quezon province on Monday, report said Tuesday.
Quezon Police reported that Wendy Rose Roldan, 1, was accidentally bumped and consequently ran over by a Mitsubishi Xpander driven by Gil Gomez along Bonifacio Street in Barangay (village) Sabang Uno around 5:30 p.m.
The victim died on the way to St. Peter General Hospital from fatal injuries.
“The girl suddenly crossed the street,” Police Staff Sergeant Michael Verdeflor, case investigator, explained in a text message.
Police said Gomez and the victim’s family are willing to settle the matter amicably outside of the court.
