MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Monday warned the public against individuals who are posing as government officials to solicit medical bonds or insurance.

“Some unscrupulous individuals have been using the names of Secretary Karlo Nograles and Secretary Silvestre Bello III to solicit an unauthorized medical bond/medical insurance, in the amount of P6,000,” said the Office of the Presidential Spokesperson (OPS) in a statement.

It added that it unlawfully uses the letterheads of the Inter-Agency Task Force as well as the Department of Labor and Employment, as part of recruitment and hiring procedure.

“The OPS wishes to alert everyone of this illegal solicitation scheme and urges the public to report such fraudulent activity to 8888 Citizens’ Complaint Center,” it said.
