CITY OF MALOLOS––About 60 judicial courts in Bulacan will remain closed until Jan. 31 to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and while the province remains under the more stringent Alert Level 3.
Supreme Court Justice Alexander Gesmundo issued last week Memorandum No. 10-2022 ordering a physical closure of all the courts in the province after some employees got infected.
The Bulacan regional trial court has 33 branches, while the province’s 21 towns and three cities have municipal and city courts.
According to Gesmundo, all urgent court matters could still be handled through video conferences and hotline numbers.
The filing of pleadings and other court submissions due this month would be extended until Feb. 1, the memorandum added.
Bulacan’s active COVID-19 cases had reached 9,270 as of Jan. 15.
