Amihan, shear line to bring rain, cloudy skies over most parts of PH — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Most parts of the country are expected to have cloudy skies with light and scattered rains on Monday due to the northeast monsoon or amihan and a shear line or the tail end of a cold front, the state weather bureau reported on Sunday.

The amihan will also bring cloudy skies and light rains to the Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Aurora,  the Bicol Region, and Quezon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are also expected over the entire Mindanao, Eastern Samar, Leyte and Bohol due to a shear line.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience a fair weather condition with partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of isolated light rains.

Meanwhile, Pagasa raised a gale warning on the eastern seaboard of Southern Luzon, the eastern seaboard of the Visayas and the eastern seaboard of Mindanao because of the northeast monsoon.

These seaboards will experience rough to very rough sea condition with 2.8 to 4.5 meters of waves.

“Fishing boats and other small sea craft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves,” Pagasa said.
