30 Olongapo hospital workers infected with COVID virus
OLONGAPO CITY — At least 30 health care workers of the main COVID hospital in this city have tested positive for coronavirus, according to a hospital official on Thursday (Jan. 13).
In a radio interview, Dr. Jewel Manuel, chief of James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital (JLGMH), said 20 of the infected hospital workers were confined at the hospital wards while the other 10 went on home quarantine.
Manuel said the health care workers had mild symptoms and none was in critical condition.
Six other COVID patients, two of whom were in severe conditions, were being treated at the hospital.
Manuel said beds at the hospital’s intensive care unit remained vacant.
