DOH: 1 of 4 hospitals in Olongapo City now at critical level

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — One of the four hospitals in Olongapo City was on critical status after reaching maximum bed capacity for COVID-19 patients, data from the Department of Health (DOH) showed on Wednesday, Jan. 12.

All of the six isolation beds of the Zambales Medical Mission Group Coop Hospital have been occupied.

The same DOH data show that St. Jude Medical Center was under moderate level, as only three of its eight intensive care unit (ICU) beds remained vacant.

But James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital, the primary COVID-19 facility in the city, and Mother and Child General Hospital remained at a safe level.

The city has recorded 5,684 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic struck in 2020, but 223 of them remained active, 5,143 recovered, and 318 died.
