Bishop OKs petition to declare Biñan church a diocesan shrine

MANILA, Philippines — San Pablo Bishop Buenaventura Famadico has approved a petition to declare San Isidro Labrador Parish Church as a diocesan shrine.

The church management broke the announcement on its Facebook page on Tuesday.

“Ang deklarasyon ng ating parokya bilang Diocesan Shrine of San Isidro Labrador ay ihahanda at iaanunsyo ng ating parokya sa mga susunod na araw,” the church management said.

(The declaration of our parish to become Diocesan Shrine of San Isidro Labrador is being prepared and will be announced by the parish in the coming days.)

The San Isidro Labrador Parish Church, which houses a centuries-old dark wood image of the saint, will be the 8th shrine in the diocese.

The church will also be the third shrine dedicated to San Isidro Labrador after San Isidro Labrador Shrine in Talavera, Nueva Ecijaand San Isidro Labrador Shrine in Pulilan, Bulacan.
