Talavera mayor tests positive for COVID-19

TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija — Mayor Nerivi Santos-Martinez on Tuesday (Jan. 11) announced that she tested positive for COVID-19 despite taking precautionary measures against the virus.

In a Facebook post, Martinez said she confirmed her infection through an antigen test.

Although she was fully vaccinated and received a booster shot, Martinez said she manifested symptoms, such as cough and sore throat.

She urged the public to be more vigilant as she promised to continue doing her job while on isolation.
