MANILA, Philippines — Former Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar said that he will push for the completion of the entire Central Luzon Link Expressway, a project connecting the provinces of Tarlac and Nueva Ecija.
The Phase I of CLLEX is a 30 kilometer four lane expressway that connects and improves access between Central Luzon, Metro Manila and other nearby provinces.

“We remain true in our commitment to deliver the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX), that’s why I will continue to push for this project. The benefit of Phase I is just outstanding, magiging 20 minutes nalang from Tarlac to Cabanatuan,” Villar said.
This project originates from the connection of Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) and Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) in Balingcanaway, Tarlac City and ends at the Pan-Philippine Highway (Daang Maharlika) in Caalibangbangan, Cabanatuan City.
“We want to push for projects that will have a lasting effect to our kababayans. The CLLEX will definitely benefit commuters and motorists; being the country’s first toll-free expressway,” Villar added.
CLLEX is one of the infrastructure projects funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) under the government’s Build, Build, Build program.
“At the end of the day, our advocacy is to push for the Build, Build, Build Program and provide jobs that create better opportunities for the Filipino people. The completion of CLLEX will definitely help us out.” Villar said.
