MANILA, Philippines — Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan said he and his family are now negative for COVID-19 based on their latest RT-PCR tests.
Last Sunday, Pangilinan revealed that his regular RT-PCR test showed he had contracted COVID-19.
But in a Twitter post this Tuesday, the senator reported that his latest RT-PCR test showed a negative result.
“Sharon, the kids & househelp also negative!” Pangilinan said, referring to Megastar wife, Sharon Cuneta.
“My Dr. sister says my prior result was a false positive as none of us have symptoms,” the vice presidential aspirant went on.
Earlier, Pangilinan expressed surprise that he tested positive for the virus when he had “zero symptoms” of COVID-19. His sister then raised the possibility that the result was a false positive.
The senator nevertheless stressed the need to make COVID-19 tests free and available for those who need it.
“We need free testing for all who need it so we are all better prepared to manage Covid,” Pangilinan said.
