P804k shabu seized in Quezon bust; 2 rookie drug pushers nabbed
LUCENA CITY – Police arrested two rookies in the illegal drug trade and seized over P804,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Tayabas City in Quezon province on Monday night, report said Tuesday.
Police Colonel Joel Villanueva, Quezon police chief, said in a report that suspects as Roselito Burgos, 58, and Richard Kakal, 39, were arrested after they sold a pack of shabu to a police agent who acted as a drug user in a transaction inside a subdivision in Barangay (village) Isabang around 10:48 p.m.
Authorities confiscated 12 plastic sachets of shabu weighing 39.44 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P268,192.
The seized illegal drugs are worth P804,576 in the street market, according to the police.
The police tagged the two suspects as “newly identified drug personalities” or rookies in the illegal drug trade.
The suspects were detained and are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
