Bicol logs 308 new COVID-19 cases

LEGAZPI CITY — The Department of Health (DOH) in Bicol has recorded 308 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, January 7, the highest recorded so far since January 1.

DOH Bicol reported that for the period January 1 to 7, the new cases range from 6 cases a day to 308 cases. On Thursday, January 6, 182 cases were recorded and 98 cases were logged on Wednesday.

The DOH data indicate that as of Friday, it has recorded 2,517 active cases, bringing to 47,580 cumulative cases in the region since March 2020, with 43,064 recoveries and 1,999 recorded deaths.

Meanwhile, DOH Bicol said of the 4.3 million target population for herd immunity, it has registered a total of 2.2 million individuals that were fully vaccinated.
