The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) on Thursday said the rehabilitation work in Marawi City would be 95-percent complete by the end of President Duterte’s term.

Housing Secretary Eduardo del Rosario said the government spent P10 billion in 2020 and 2021 for various rehabilitation projects and allotted P1 billion more this year to complete them.

Other implementing agencies will complete the remaining 5 percent of the rehabilitation work and have been given enough funding, he said.

In Marawi’s most affected area, Del Rosario said the government has turned over six barangay government complexes, each with a health center and a madrasa. Six mosques, including the iconic Grand Mosque, were also completed. —JEROME ANING
