MANILA, Philippines — Certain branches of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in the National Capital Region (NCR) were shuttered from Thursday, January 6, until further notice due to the current surge in COVID-19 infections.

In a Facebook post, the LTO-NCR said its West branches will be closed to give way for thorough disinfection of all its offices as the number of COVID-19 cases in the nation’s capital region continues to rise.

Likewise, the LTO NCR-East said it is closing its branches for sanitation efforts. Below is the list of offices under LTO NCR-East:

The LTO NCR also said that because of the temporary closure, the validity of registration of those with plate numbers ending in “1” and are scheduled to be renewed this month is extended until the end of next month (February 28).

It further said the validity of student permits, driver’s licenses, and conductor’s licenses that expired in October and December 2021 would be extended until the end of this month.
