MANILA, Philippines — Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat announced on Thursday that she is currently on self-quarantine after being exposed to a person infected with COVID-19.

“I am currently in isolation following a recent exposure to a COVID-positive individual,” Puyat said in a post through Instagram.

Puyat, however, said she is already fully vaccinated against the virus and that she has already gotten her booster shot.

“I will continue to work from home for the meantime until I get my medical clearance on the 10th day from first exposure,” she said.

She then reminded the public to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and to avail booster jabs as soon as they can.

Puyat’s self-isolation came after three other officials — Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, and the country’s vaccine czar, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. — announced that they are also in quarantine due to exposure to COVID-positive patients.
