MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga–The municipal government of Moncada in Tarlac province will start imposing a “no vaccine, no entry” policy on Thursday, Jan. 6, barring unvaccinated individuals from entering government offices and business establishments.
Mayor Estelita Aquino and municipal health officer Peter Louie Tamayo on Wednesday approved the resolution of the town’s COVID-19 task force, stating that “only vaccinated individuals shall be allowed entry into government offices, public market and business establishments.”
The resolution said business establishments include grocery stores, supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, spas, salons, banks, resorts, money changers, and other places with enclosed spaces.
It said business establishments and government offices that fail to abide by the task force’s resolution would face sanctions.
The task force said proactive measures were needed to avert the spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in the town.
Moncada has three active cases as of Wednesday. It did not record new cases, recoveries, and deaths on the same day.
Since the pandemic started in 2020, the town has recorded 553 COVID-19 cases, of which 519 had recovered, while 31 had died.
