MANILA, Philippines — A Quezon City court has barred a Bulacan provincial board official from leaving the country while his alleged involvement in the shooting of Nanette Castelo-Daza’s former boyfriend was being reinvestigated.

In a four-page order dated February 27, Judge Luis Zenon Maceren of Regional Trial Court Branch 218 issued a hold departure order against
Romeo Allan Robes, son-in-law of Daza, an ex-congresswoman.
The court also directed the Quezon City prosecutors’ office to conduct
another investigation into the homicide charge initially filed against the accused for the February 10 shooting of Noel Orate Sr.
Trial prosecutor Leonardo Raul Gonzales was given 30 days to finish the reinvestigation of the case against Robes.
This was after the victim’s family, through lawyer Eduardo Bringas, asked the court for a second look into the homicide charge against the accused as the Orates believed their father was murdered.
The same order also granted the prosecution’s appeal to defer Robes’ March 13 arraignment.
