Scattered rains, cloudy skies in parts of Luzon, Mindanao — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Several parts of Northern Luzon and some areas in Mindanao are expected to have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers on Wednesday due to northeast monsoon, or amihan, and easterlies respectively, the state weather bureau reported.
“Umiiral pa din ang northeast monsoon. Ngayon ay buong Luzon lang ang naaapektuhan nito, easterlies naman ang nakakaapekto sa buong bansa,” according to Aldczar Aurelio, a Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist.
(The northeast monsoon still prevails in the entire Luzon, while easterlies is affecting the entire country.)
Pagasa said the northeast monsoon would bring cloudy skies with light rains in Ilocos, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora and the northern portion of Quezon.
Easterlies, on the other hand, is also expected to cause cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Davao Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Sarangani, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi and Southern Palawan.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, where the Northeast monsoon also prevails, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.
The entire Visayas, the rest of Mindanao and Palawan will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to easterlies.
Meanwhile, Pagasa raised gale warning associated with northeast monsoon in several seaboards in the country.
The eastern seaboard of Southern Luzon and Visayas will have a rough to very rough sea condition with 2.8 to 4.5 meters of waves, while the eastern seaboard of Mindanao and northern seaboard of northern Luzon and the eastern seaboard of Northern and Central Luzon will expect rough sea condition with 2.8 to 4.0 meters of waves.
