‘Teams outside Cebu can join USC Barkada football’

ORGANIZERS of the 3rd University of San Carlos (USC) Inter-Barkada Tournament is calling football teams within and outside Cebu to take part in this 7-a-side football tournament slated March 11 at the USC-TC football field.

For the first time since its holding, Gary Panagsagan, one of the tournament directors, said the tournament is open to the public.

“Before, this tournament used to be exclusive for USC teams but this year we have decided to open it to other teams,” Panagsagan said.

Panagsagan, who is also USC’s football coach, said he and fellow tournament director Joshua Fegidero, a former Azkal, decided to open it to other teams as it will serve as a challenge for the USC varsity teams.

Also, it will help them scout for players to man the school’s varsity teams.

The tournament will have men’s and women’s open categories. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
