MANILA, Philippines Former senator JV Ejercito revealed Monday that he has tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

“Ingat ingat lang Omicron is here! Tested positive for the very first time!” Ejercito said in a message to reporters.

“Pero it’s mild, after 2 days wala na ako fever or other symptoms,” he said.

Ejercito, who is seeking a Senate comeback in the May 2022 elections, said he tested positive for the new coronavirus last Friday.

His parents former President Joseph Estrada and former San Juan Mayor Guia Gomez had also contracted COVID-19.
