MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga–The number of active COVID-19 cases continued to rise in the City of San Fernando as it recorded five new cases on Sunday, Jan. 2, data from the city health office showed.
Active COVID-19 cases now stood at 23 from 18 on the first day of 2022.
In its latest bulletin, the city government said two residents of Calulut village, two from San Isidro, and one from Santa Teresita tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.
Eleven of the capital city’s 35 villages have active infections.
Data also showed that the city did not record any new recoveries or deaths on Sunday.
Since the pandemic started in 2021, San Fernando has recorded 11,307 COVID-19 cases, of which 10,956 had recovered, while 328 had died.
