The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) which administers metro-wide affairs was created through Republic Act No. 7924 which was signed on March 1, 1995.

The MMDA which holds office in Guadalupe, Makati City, replaced the Metro Manila Authority which was established in 1990 through Executive Order No. 392. Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
