Over 4,500 COVID-19 booster shots administered in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales––At least 4,671 COVID-19 booster shots had been administered to the priority sectors in this province, local data showed on Tuesday, Dec. 29.

According to the provincial health office, most of these booster shots were given Monday to medical frontliners and the elderly when the healthcare workers held another mass vaccination against COVID-19.

At least 244,812 residents in the province had been fully inoculated against the viral disease. These reflected 53.79 percent of the target 455,119 to achieve herd immunity.

Data also showed that 315,783 residents, or 69.38 percent of the target, had received the first dose of the vaccine.

On Monday alone, 8,901 doses of the vaccine were administered during a mass vaccination.

San Marcelino is one of the towns that allowed “walk-ins” for booster shots allocated for the adult population. INQ
