LUCENA CITY — Two pedestrians died after a passenger bus hit them along Quirino Highway in Tagkawayan, Quezon shortly before midnight on Tuesday.
Quezon police reported that Jacobo Magdamit, 65, and one alias “Tess Perida”, around 40 years old, were hit by a Manila-bound Dongfeng Bragais bus driven by Michael Baraero in a section of the highway in Barangay Rizal at 11:30 p.m.
The victims died on the spot.
It was reported that the bu hit the victims when they suddenly crossed the highway.
Baraero was detained after he voluntarily surrendered and is now facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in double homicide.
