375 pass geodetic engineering exam; UP Diliman grad tops list of passers

MANILA, Philippines — More than half or 375 of 694 examinees passed the December Geodetic Engineering Licensure Exam (GELE), the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) said Tuesday.

Christian Janlois Arguelles Noriega of the University of the Philippines (UP) – Diliman topped the list of topnotchers with a score of 91.80 percent.

In second place is Gian Nathan Acurantes Tongco, also from UP who scored 91.00 percent. Placing third is UP Diliman graduate, Jay Vee Perdonia Estrada and Bernard Maiko Cunanan Tayag of the Pampanga State Agricultural University, who both scored 90.60.

Meanwhile, five schools were hailed as “top-performing schools,” with UP Diliman leading the list with a passing rate of 97.53 percent (79 of 81 examinees passed) followed by the Visayas State University – Baybay, with a 92.86 passing rate.

The board exams were held in testing centers in Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga by the Board of Geodetic Engineering on December 22 to 23, 2021.
