Weeklong operation yields P1.4M ‘meth’ in Central Luzon; over 400 people nabbed

OLONGAPO CITY––At least 212 grams of “shabu” (crystal meth) worth P1,441,799 and 53 grams of marijuana worth 7,520 were seized during a weeklong anti-criminality operation in Central Luzon, police said Monday.

In a statement, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) said 410 people were arrested from Dec 20 to 26 in the region due to various offenses.

At least 33 of those arrested had standing warrants for murder, rape, and frustrated murder; 134 for illegal drugs; and 92 for illegal gambling.

The rest were apprehended for other violations.

“As we anticipate crimes to proliferate during this holiday season, we are always on our toes to ensure the public of a safe, secure, and enjoyable Christmas and New Year,” said Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay, PRO3 director.
