MANILA, Philippines – The ban on land travel between Luzon and Mindanao via Eastern Visayas has been lifted on Monday, December 27.

The order lifting the land travel ban is contained in a memorandum dated Dec. 26 issued by the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council(RDRRMC)signed by RDRRMC 8 Chairperson Dir. Lord Byron Torreecarion.

Land travel from Luzon to Mindanao through Eastern Visayas has been canceled last Dec. 22 due to congestion at the Liloan Port in Southern Leyte.

The congestion was due to a lack of shipping services and a large number of stranded passengers and vehicles affected by Typhoon Odette.
