A 5.4-magnitude earthquake jolted waters off Davao Occidental on Sunday, state seismologists said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake, which was tectonic in origin, struck 388 kilometers southeast of Balut Island in Sarangani at 10:22 a.m.
It had a depth of 64 km. Phivolcs said no immediate damage was reported but warned of aftershocks.
Another earthquake was also recorded off the waters of Agno, Pangasinan, at 8:12 a.m. on Sunday.
Phivolcs said the 4.4-magnitude quake, which was tectonic in origin, occurred 73 km northwest of Agno town and had a depth of 11 km. No damage was reported. —Nestor Corrales
