MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday reported 433 cases — the same number of new infections reported on Christmas Day — to bring the caseload to 2,838,640, the Department of Health (DOH) reported.
DOH said that 392 or 91 percent of the 433 cases were found positive for the novel coronavirus within the recent 14 days or from December 13-26.
Of the total number of active cases, around 0.3 percent or 9,522 remain as “active cases,” but many of them have only exhibited mild or no symptoms at all at 42.3 percent.
The breakdown of active cases are as follows: 3,574 cases have mild symptoms, 3,339 are moderate, 1,777 severe, 458 are asymptomatic and 374 are in critical condition.
The total number of recoveries is at 2,777,918 after 283 new recoveries were reported.
Also, 13 patients were reported to succumb to the virus bringing the mortality count to 51,200.
“Same range, same number of cases as yesterday. Low number of deaths is good to see,” OCTA Research fellow Guido David said of today’s number of cases.
“Four hundred-thirty three is at the upper range of our projection. Let’s continue to follow health protocols,” David added.
The professor on Saturday said the number of infections have continued to trend up “slightly.”
