Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Islands may see rain due to ITCZ
MANILA, Philippines — Several areas in Visayas that are still reeling from the onslaught of Typhoon Odette (international name: Rai) may experience rain anew on Sunday, the state weather bureau said.
In its 4 p.m. Saturday bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands in the Visayas, and Davao Oriental in Mindanao will experience overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).
Generally fair weather, on the other hand, may prevail in Metro Manila and the rest of the Luzon and Visayas on Sunday although partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, remains possible.
The rest of Mindanao may also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers but this will be due to localized thunderstorms, according to Pagasa.
Gale warning was likewise raised over the northern, eastern, and western seaboards of Northern Luzon as well as the eastern seaboard of Central Luzon, the state weather service said. Rough to very rough sea conditions with waves ranging from 2.8 to 5.5 meters are anticipated in these seaboards.
